Monon Trail

When you visit Hamilton County, bring your bike and pedal along the Monon Trail, a rails-to-trails paved pathway spanning north to Sheridan and south to Carmel, connecting to Indianapolis. Stop along the way to enjoy the scenery or visit a restaurant or store in the Carmel Arts & Design District, Midtown Plaza or Carmel City Center. Live Music

From headlining concerts at Ruoff Music Center to symphony performances at Symphony on the Prairie to community concerts you can find live music nearly every night of the week.

Conner Prairie

A history museum showcasing life in 1800s Indiana. Wander through the expansive outdoor grounds to see baby sheep and goats at the Animal Encounters barn or see what’s happening in historic 1836 Prairietown.

Soak in the sunshine and fresh air by exploring dozens of local parks and more than 600 miles of trails. The most popular parks include Coxhall Gardens in Carmel, with the twin bell towers chiming on the hour and a children’s play area; Flat Fork Creek Park in Fishers, known for its picturesque boardwalk and three hidden tree houses; and Central Park in Carmel, with a peaceful lagoon area, ideal for fishing and bird watching.

If you’re more of a thrill-seeker, visit Strawtown Koteewi Park in northern Hamilton County, a 750-acre park with miles of trails and prairie land. Book a guided horseback ride through the park at K-Trails Equestrian Adventures, try your hand at a bow and arrow at Koteewi Range or soar through the ziplines and treetop trails at Edge Adventures Koteewi: Aerial Adventure Park.
