White River Vision Plan
The White River in Hamilton County meanders along more than 25 miles of the countryside... through four county parks, one nationally recognized museum, by six city parks and through historic downtown Noblesville.
Tens of thousands of cars pass over the river each day to and from work, school or for errands. During warmer months, hundreds put into the park each weekend in kayaks, canoes or in giant tubes or fish from boats or banks. Hamilton County residents on some city water systems turn on their showers each morning only to have cleaned river water wash away their sleep.
The White River Alliance, Friends of the White River, Reconnect Our Waterways and Central Indiana Land Trust, to name a few, have been fighting for this river’s protection for decades.
And now the river has our full attention.
